One of the best things about backyard parties is that they can be as big or small as you want them to be. If you’ve got a large backyard, invite all of your teenager’s friends and have a huge bash! If you’ve got a smaller backyard, invite a few close friends and have an intimate gathering. No matter what size backyard you have, we’ve got some great ideas to make it the perfect party spot for your teenager and their friends.

Choose a Theme

For starters, you’ll need to decide on a theme. Once you’ve got a theme in mind, everything else will fall into place. Will it be a pool party? A beach party? A carnival-themed party? Get your teenager’s input and make sure they’re on board with the theme before you start planning and narrow your selections down to parties that will fit with your own backyard

Games and Activities

Once you’ve got a theme, it’s time to start thinking about games and activities. If you’re throwing pool party, set up a slip ‘n slide or sprinklers for hours of water-filled fun. For a beach party, set up a volleyball net or build a sandcastle. If you’re going with a carnival theme, set up some fun games like a bean bag toss or ring toss. No matter what theme you choose, there are endless possibilities for games and activities that will keep your teenager and their friends entertained all afternoon long.

Food and Drinks

Last but not least, you’ll need to think about food and drinks. If you’re having a pool party, make sure to have plenty of sunscreen and refreshing drinks on hand. For a beach party, pack some healthy snacks and sandwiches. And if you’re going with a carnival theme, don’t forget the cotton candy and popcorn! No matter what type of party you’re throwing, food and drinks are essential.
