Kids love birthday parties, but sometimes it can be hard to keep them entertained. If you’re looking for some fun birthday party games to keep your little guests happy, here are a few ideas.

The birthday party games are described with rules and prizes below. For prizes in individual games just give one person the prize. For prizes in team birthday party games, every person on the team wins a prize.
Some ideas for prizes are little jars of bubbles, gum, sunglasses, tattoos, stickers, beach balls, pencils, erasers, books, toy jewelry, little cars, crayons, and sidewalk chalk. Some big prizes could be a Pop it Toys, soft toys, mini beach playset, wiffle ball and bat, nerf ball, and play doh.

Team Birthday Party Games
Egg on Spoon Relay
Say there are 12 kids, Divide the kids into two teams 6 on A six on B. Each team gets 6 eggs. Split each team in half and put half from A at one end of the land and the other half at the opposite end. Do the same for team B. Give each player on the team a disposable spoon. Each team starts at the same time.
Players walk or run as fast as they can to the other end with an egg on their spoon and the spoon in their hand when a player reaches the opposite teammate, the teammate puts their spoon handle in their mouth and their teammate with the eggs puts her own spoon handle is his mouth and transfers the egg to teammates spoon without dropping it. If the egg drops they have to go back and start again. (Please no running or walking with spoons in your mouth). Each team continues with A person going to B, B to C, C to D, D to E, E to F, F to A. The first team to transfer the egg through all players without it dropping wins.
Balloon to the Moon
Divide the party guests into two teams. Give each team a different colored balloon. The team to keeps their balloon up the longest wins.
Fitness Maze Craze
Divide the kids into two teams or more. Set up an obstacle course with things you have at home. Set up shoeboxes to leap over, then 3 hula hoops in a row to jump in, then a jump rope for 15 jumps, and then do 5 pushups. If you mess up or skip something you start again. The first team to have all players finish with no mistakes wins.
Balloon Rockets
Divide the kids into two teams or more. Everyone on the team gets a balloon of the same color to blow up (if there are young children please have adults blow up and supervise at all times). Set up a marker on the ground as a target. Everyone blows up their balloon and lets them go at the same time. The team to gets the most balloons closest to the target wins or the team that hit’s the target wins.
Remember Me Tray birthday Party Games
Divide the kids into team #1 and team #2. Make an A tray and a B tray. Put 15 different things on each tray. Give team #1 tray A for two minutes tell them to memorize what is on the tray. Give Team #2 tray B for 2 minutes. Tell them to memorize what is on it.
Give teams a piece of paper and they have them go around in a circle saying 1 item at a time for 5 minutes. Then switch trays and play again. The team that remembers the most from the two trays wins.
Sneaky Sack Birthday Party Game
Divide guests into two teams. Take two sacks and fill them with identical items. (Safe items only please i.e. no scissors or push pins etc ) Give each team a sack. Have them go around in a circle and guess what they feel, no sneaking, keep the sack closed just hands are used to feel the items. The team to guess the most items correctly wins.
Bottoms Birthday Burst Game
Divide into two teams. Everyone gets a water balloon. Everyone sits on their balloon, the 1st team to have all the players burst their balloons wins, perfect game for a summer party
Toilet Tissue Toga
Divide into two or more teams (helps to have 3 per team; one to be the model two to be designers). Each team gets a roll of toilet paper. They have 5 minutes to dress their model. The team with the best toga wins.
Individual Birthday Party Games
Pin the nose on the birthday child
The classic game “Pin the tail on the Donkey” changed up to be a poster-size picture of the birthday person. Make noses and give them to each player with their initials on them. Blind fold each player and they take it in turns and the player to get the nose on the correct or closest position, wins.
Piñata bash:
Piñatas are always a fun addition to any birthday party! To play, hang the piñata from a tree or other sturdy object and have the kids take turns hitting it with a stick until it breaks open. Be sure to have plenty of candy and small toys on hand to stuff the piñata with

Hula hoop contest:
This game is a lot of fun and gets kids up and moving. You will need a hoola hoop for each child. The player who hula hoops the longest without it falling wins. You can also play a different version with a hula hoop. To play, have the kids stand in a circle and pass the hoola hoop around the circle. The child who has the hoola hoop when the music stops is out of the game. The last child standing wins!
Musical Chairs
This classic game is always a hit with kids! Use appropriate but new songs you hear on the radio so that kids will get into it. Set up chairs in opposite directions in a line. Start with a chair for everyone. When the music stops, they must sit down in a chair. The child without a chair is out of the game. If you want the game to go faster you can take away 2 chairs each time. Last one seated wins.
Memory Dance Game
Every player forms a circle. 1 player at a time moves into the circle and adds one dance step at a time. 1st player to misses a step is out. The next person has to try and players are out until someone can correctly complete the dance. Once that person completes the dance they add a step and the game goes on until they have only one player left who can complete the dance.
Pass the Parcel
This is a classic party game that is always popular with kids. To play, wrap a small prize in several layers of paper. Then have the kids sit in a circle and pass the parcel around while the music plays. When the music stops, the child who has the parcel unwraps one layer of paper. The game continues until the prize is revealed. The child who unwraps the final layer of paper wins the prize!
Scavenger Hunt
This is a great game for kids of all ages and can be easily tailored to any party theme. Hide small prizes around the party area and give the kids a list of things to find. The first child to find all the items on the list wins a prize!
Treasure Hunt
Birthday treasure hunts are a great way to add some extra excitement to your child’s birthday party. Print out these printable treasure hunt cards, the clues can be simple or tricky, depending on your preference. You can get themed treasure hunts like Mermaid, Unicorn or even Pirate ones to go with any party theme. Hide some small toys, stickers, and candy at each clue so the kids get excited to solve the next one. Birthday treasure hunts are a great way to add some extra excitement and laughter to your child’s special day.
“Birthday Person Name here,” Says ( Simon says)
This is another classic game. Basically, Simon says just personalizing the name. The Birthday person gets to be Simon and tells people what to do. The birthday child will then give the other children commands to do (e.g., “Simon says touch your nose”). The children must only do the command if Simon says “Simon says ! Last person left wins.
Freeze dance
Play music. All the players dance. Then you stop the music, anyone who doesn’t stop quick enough is out. Continue until the last player is left and that player wins.
Whip Cream; Whip Cream; Sour Milk
Based on Duck Duck goose birthday party game. All players sit in a circle except one. That person goes around and says Whip Cream, Whip Cream, Sour Milk. Then the sour milk person tries to catch them. Continue on just like Duck Duck goose but change duck for whip cream and goose for sour milk.
Alphabet Vacation
All players sit in a circle. 1 player starts with A and says where they will go ” we are going on vacation to Alaska. 2nd player says We are going on vacation to Alaska and getting there by boat. 3rd person says we are going on vacation to Alaska and getting there by boat. We are leaving Carmen’s house. The 4th says we are going on vacation to Alaska and getting there by boat. We are leaving Carmen’s house and Donna will bring Extra towels, 5th person says we are going on vacation to Alaska and getting there by boat. We are leaving Carmen’s house and Donna will bring Extra towels, frank will bring Gatorade. When someone messes up they are out. Keep going around until someone gets it then add in the next letters. Last player left that can complete it wins.This is a little tricky and probably suit tweens or teens best.
Balloon Pop
This is a classic party game that’s always a hit with kids! All you need is a balloon for each child and a small prize for the winner. To play, have the kids line up and give each child a balloon. On your signal, they must start popping their balloons as quickly as possible. The first child to pop all their balloons wins the prize!
