Watermelon Slushie

Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon cubed and seeded – Fresh watermelon is a must for this slushie! It’s naturally sweet and hydrating, making it the perfect base.
  • 1 cup ice cubes This will give your slushie that nice frosty texture.
  • 2 tablespoons honey A touch of honey adds just the right amount of sweetness. You can always add a little more if you like things sweeter but start with this and taste test as you go!
  • Mint leaves for garnish These not only make your slushie look pretty but also add a refreshing burst of flavor.

Instructions

  • Blend the watermelon until smooth.
  • Add ice and honey. Blend again until everything is well combined and the ice has crushed into tiny, refreshing bits.
  • Give it a quick taste and see if you need to add more honey.

Notes

  • If you want to take this slushie to the next level (and trust me, you do), you can try adding other fruits like strawberries or pineapple for extra flavor. A splash of rum or vodka can turn this into a fun adult cocktail, perfect for a summer night out on the deck. But, of course, you can keep it family-friendly, too!
  • Use a Sweet, Ripe Watermelon – The better the watermelon, the better the slushie. Look for a watermelon that’s firm, heavy for its size, and has a nice deep color. If it's sweet, your slushie will be, too!
  • Frozen Fruit – If you don’t have fresh watermelon on hand, you can use frozen watermelon cubes! This can even make your slushie colder and even more slushy, if that’s your thing.
  • Make It Ahead – If you're hosting a party, you can make the slushie ahead of time and keep it in the freezer. Just give it a quick stir before serving to break up any ice that may have formed.
  • Adjust the Ice – If you like a thicker slushie, use more ice. If you prefer it a bit more drinkable, add less.
